Together with 3 other schoolmates from the SMUĀ Social Enterprise Club, I participated in the Hult Prize 2014, where we challenged ourselves to design a sustainable and scalable solution to address non-communicable diseases in slums.
We were thrilled to be one of the 20 teams shortlisted for the Shanghai Regional Finals and had an opportunity to pitch our idea of a community-based healthy meal programme, aimed at combating diabetes, to an international panel of judges.
While we didn't win the top prize, it was a great experience nonetheless and an opportunity to discover another part of our huge, diverse world.
